Giving Forum event

nick hurdPhotos from the Giving Forum event held in the House of Lords led by Lord Best.  Our Chief Executive, John Low, joined the Minister for Civil Society Nick Hurd MP and shadow minister Gareth Thomas MP who also spoke at the event.

John Low revealed new figures which shows that the wealthiest people give less to charity as a percentage of their income than those less well off.  The figures reveal that those earning less than £32k donated 1.0% of income to charity.  Those earning more than £52k, donate just 0.8%.

You can read more about the event here.  The Guardian also featured aspects of the speech in a comment piece by Timothy Garton Ash, which you can read here.
